Queen Maxima of the Netherlands has been accused of mocking Donald Trump.
President Trump has been in the European country over the last few days for the annual NATO summit, which took place at The Hague over Tuesday and Wednesday (June 24 - 25).
During his trip overseas, Trump (or 'daddy', according to NATO official Mark Rutte) paid a visit to Queen Maxima and King Willem at the Huis ten Bosch Palace. The trio posed for snaps for the press during Trump's stopover at the royal palace where the president was seen flashing a large smile and giving the thumbs up to the cameras.
The moment they posed were photos was also filmed by the media — something Queen Maxima seemingly forgot for a moment. In a clip that's going the rounds online, Queen Maxima appears to mock the president's mouth after he said 'thank you'.
She then locked eyes with the camera that was on her in a The Office-esque moment, and they quickly zoomed out of the frame.
While it's likely the queen hoped the moment went unnoticed, it very much has, and people have been sharing their thoughts on the matter.
"Queen Maxima mimicking Trump's mouth movements really got me," someone said.
"Poor lady just got herself an entire Truth social post," added another.
A third went on: "WAIT A MINUTE WAS QUEEN MAXIMA OF THE NETHERLANDS MIMICKING DONAL TRUMP?"
Others suggested that the queen was 'making a fool' out of Trump.
"This is hilarious," said somebody else. "I’ve never been a fan of our stiff monarchy, but Queen Maxima rocks it! Treat him like a baby."
Others found her apparent actions less amusing however, and criticized Queen Maxima.
One said it was 'disrespectful', as another fumed: "What an unprofessional & b*tchy thing to do, not only for a woman of her age & position, but for a royal. I hope this gets back to President Trump (which it will, everything always does) & he acts upon it! What an a**sehole of a thing to do in front of the whole world."
Commenting on the photos of the threesome, body language expert Darren Stantion (speaking on behalf of Genting Casino) said: "The photo of Trump, the King, and Queen Maxima shows the Queen to be the more dominant of the two Dutch royals.
"The King can be seen looking ahead with the same self-soothing gesture, covering his abdomen, but the Queen is turned directly to Trump and mirroring his gestures - almost trying to assert her own dominance."
UNILAD have approached the Royal Press Office for comment.
